Glaze Test

This pot was just some jar I originally made to try making a lid. It's actually the first lid I ever threw on the wheel, so that's an accomplishment. However, it didn't meet the criteria for the lid making assignment. It sat on my shelf for a while until we had our glaze making assignment, because now I had a perfect test pot for my glaze.

I researched glazes, and I found one that I wanted to try: raspberry. As you can tell, I kinda screwed up the formula. What can I say, chemistry what never my best subject. I am still proud of this glaze though, because it still turned out nice. I cleverly renamed it "Pine Green", and suddenly my glaze was perfect.

Well, I guess it's not really pine green. My friend pointed out that it's not pine green. More moss green, as she suggested. I guess "Not Raspberry" works best for the glaze name. So either "Pine Green" or "Moss Green" or "Not Raspberry" works for the glaze name.

I'm really proud of it, and I doubt it will ever be made again. That's right: this is a one-of-a-kind.
